Who We Are

Minneapolis Radon Services tests and mitigates radon across Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding counties. The job is deliberately narrow: find out what a house is actually reading, and where it is too high, build a system that brings it down and prove that it did. A low reading ends with us telling you so, not with a smaller sale.

Why Local Matters

Radon comes out of the ground under the house, so the ground matters. Much of Minnesota is covered by glacial deposits, and the till the Des Moines lobe dragged in from the northwest carries shale — a rock that tends to hold more uranium than most. Across the metro that picture shifts block by block: loose outwash sand on the Anoka Sand Plain, dense clay-rich till in the western suburbs, limestone and sandstone under the river bluffs. Add the longest, coldest heating season of any big US metro and you have a house pulling on the soil for six months a year.

Estimates and Pricing

Estimates are free and given after we have seen the foundation, because a radon system cannot be priced honestly from a photo. The price is set by what is under the slab, how many separate foundation areas the house has and where the pipe can run in a Minnesota winter — none of which you can see from the street. You approve the number before any work starts.

What Is Covered

Fans and materials carry their manufacturers' warranties, which vary by product. Any workmanship guarantee on top of that is a promise about the business doing the work, so it stays off this page until it is a real commitment with written terms.

The Retest

In this trade the thing hardest to buy is proof. A working system and a dead one look identical from the driveway. That is why a retest is part of every system we build instead of an extra, and why you get the before and after readings together — the pair a buyer asks for under Minnesota's disclosure law.
